Adding Twitter Cards to Your Site

Twitter is a gold mine for drawing traffic to your website, but hooking your follower's attention and enticing a click-through in just 140 characters is a tough task. Luckily there's a handy feature to help you out: Twitter cards - detailed content summaries which appear whenever a user expands a tweet containing a link.

Twitter cards make your tweets look professional and reassure Tweeters that your link sends them somewhere appropriate (a major drawback with unpersonalised bit.ly links). These cards also appear whenever your post gets retweeted by followers, even if your @handle has been removed, boosting your impressions figures.
