How do I create a MySQL database in cPanel?

Step 1: Login and navigate to Databases

Log into your cPanel account and click on the MySQL Databases icon under the Databases tab.


Step 2: Create New Database

Enter the New Database name into the text box and click Create Database.


Step 3: Create A Database User

Enter the new database Username into the text box and click Password Generator.

Step 4: Password Generator

You can use the Password Generator to generate a strong secure password for your Database User. Once you have clicked on Generate Password, check the box that says I have copied this password in a safe place, then click on Use Password.



Step 5: Add New Database User

Once you are happy with your new database Username and Password click Create User.


Step 6: Add User To Database

From the first drop down menu select the new User and then from the second drop down menu select the new Database name and then click the Add button.

Step 7: MySQL Account Maintenance

On the MySQL Account Maintenance page to grant the user all privileges for the database tick the box on the left hand side of All Privelages and then click Make Changes.



Step 8: Current Databases

 

You have now created your new Database and Database User. On the Current Databases table you will be able to see the Database, the Size of the database and the database User. You can also Delete the Database.
