ICANN the governing body for Domains added some additional requirements into their 2013 Registrar contract which now requires registrars to validate the domain contact data when various actions are performed.
The domains that are subject to the validation process are:
- new registrations and transfers in for gTLDs such as .com, .net, .biz, .technology, .link, .review, .info, .org (this ecludes org.za and country code related domains such as .co.za, .co.uk, .de, .eu etc)
- if the registrant's first name and last name and email address was modifield
- if the WDRP notice and 30 day or 5 day expiration notice bounced.
During the validation process, an email is sent to the registrant email address with a link that should be clicked on to validate the domain. Failure to complete the validation process within 15 days of registration will lead to the suspension of the domain.
If the contact details on your domain are out-of-date and you're no longer able to receive email to them, the best thing to do is to login to my.Tsohost.com and update your contact details.
Once updated this will re-trigger the verification process and you will then get the email to the NEW address you entered, once you've verified this with a simple click of a button your domain should be unsuspended within a few minutes.
