Artiss Case Study

“The transfer of hosting was smooth and I've not had a problem since. My site has remained quick and available. When I've had a support query they have been answered quickly and intelligently. All of this at a superb price! Would I recommend Tsohost? Most certainly.”

Artiss.co.uk is a UK based technology site specialising in news, reviews, comments and free WordPress software plug-ins. Artiss originated as a personal blog of IT professional and WordPress developer, David Artiss. With unprecedented growth Artiss.co.uk has gradually blossomed into a popular commercial site that boasts over 705 articles.

The overwhelming majority of visitors to Artiss are technology enthusiasts and often WordPress site owners. However, Artiss is slowly attracting a broader audience with the introduction of customer service articles, competitions and the use of natural, snappy, honest reviews on "minor" technology items, that you won’t find anywhere else.

A few years ago Artiss.co.uk moved to WordPress, a popular open-source management system. Despite having a full time job David maintains, develops, and writes bespoke software plug-ins and articles for the site. “WordPress has proved to be incredibly powerful! The availability of themes and plug-ins makes it incredibly easy to create a very, very professional site, even if you're not a developer yourself (and even if you are, it can save you an awful lot of time!) There's little you can't do with it!”

To ensure Artiss.co.uk fully benefited from it's new 'WordPress' platform, David required a reliable host that offered fast load speeds, guaranteed uptime and offered superior customer support. After trying various budget and premium hosts, Artiss moved their hosting to Tsohost in January 2012.

"The former [budget hosts] offered poor support and my site was often slow or completely unavailable. The more premium hosts, provided excellent customer service and website availability but were highly restrictive; bandwidth and storage space came at a price. I soon found that all the money I made from my site was being spent on hosting. I had pretty much given up hope of finding a value-for-money host that offered a premium service but, after seeing some good reviews, I decided to try Tsohost."

WordPress is noticeably the most popular publishing platform on the net today. To ensure customers experience superior performance of the platform, Tsohost have optimised their systems allowing the software to run effortlessly and easily be installed with just one click!

The future of Artiss.co.uk looks bright with visitor numbers ballooning. David is optimistic about the future of the site, as is Tsohost.
