Internal Migrations Made Easy With The Cloud's New 'Import from cPanel' Wizard

Here at Tsohost we spend a lot of developing tools to make your hosting experience that little bit easier, and over the past few months we've been working behind the scenes on the Cloud's brand new 'Import from cPanel' wizard. The new 'Import from cPanel' wizard makes it faster and easier than ever before to move cPanel websites and email accounts, hosted on our cPanel hosting to our renowned Cloud hosting platform.

Who is the ‘Import from cPanel’ wizard for?

The wizard is primarily for existing customers who would like to perform an internal migration. We continue to offer our fantastic managed migration service free with every new hosting package. You can find out more about the Tsohost free migration service here.

What’s an internal migration?

Lets start with why you’d want to perform an internal migration. With both legacy cPanel and Cloud web hosting available on site, over time many of our customers have inevitably found themselves with websites scattered across the two platforms. Recently it’s become more apparent that users would like to consolidate the management of their websites by moving their cPanel websites to the Cloud. This move between our two hosted platforms is what us hosters call an 'internal migration'.

Up until now, moving cPanel sites to the Cloud was a tedious manual process, with a somewhat unpredictable outcome. This is where the new ‘Import from cPanel’ wizard fits in, as the new tool dramatically simplifies the process, saving you hours.

How do I use the ‘Import from cPanel’ wizard?

If you currently have both a cPanel hosting package and a Cloud hosting package with us and you would like to move everything over to your Cloud hosting you can do so by following these simple steps:

1. Log in to your Cloud control panel and hit the ‘Import from cPanel’ icon in the top nav.

   Note: Before continuing please carefully read the notice outlined on-screen.

2. Log in to your cPanel account and generate a full account backup by clicking ‘backups'. once the Backup Manager has loaded click, ‘Download or Generate a Full Website Backup’ and follow the on-screen instructions. When this is complete delete the domain from your cPanel account. Note: If you are not a Reseller and the site is your main domain, you will have to contact our support team who will delete your domain for you._
3. Return to your Cloud control panel and upload your cPanel backup by choosing the file and clicking ‘Continue.’

Note: This process may take a few hours to complete.
